I'm really really really awake....look:

I actually planned this whole update in a notebook, but I'm too comfy to get up and get it....SO IMMA WING IT.

OH! I wanted to talk about New York Comic Con, which I attended because I'm a big nerd and fine with it.
It's funny the reactions I get when I tell people I went though. Today at my newspaper meeting when I asked the arts editor if I could do a story about it she was like "YOU went? Wow! Ok!"

Lolz. Loves it.

Oh! So Cynthia and I are going to attempt to actually have more radio shows on a weekly basis. We're also enjoying the 'guest star' thing we did last time, so we might pop up with a few more! ;]

I've also started using Tumblr and Twitter as well! I'm really enjoying it! As you can tell I have the SAME username for everything. Excuse me for being un-original.

Things I've learned this week:

-Peanuts in the U.S can kill you.
-If you take your husbands kidney, then get divorced, make sure you have a good lawyer.
-Chris Brown is a wife beater.
-If you're gonna cheat on someone, make it someone more ATTRACTIVE, or at least up to par, then the guy you're cheating on...(Jesse McCartney? Really? Ew.)
-People need to shower when attending Conventions. B.O + Thousands of people = Not a nice time.
-Dino needs to come to NYC or all he gets is a shot glass.

So, I'm hoping Cynthia will update this soon with stories from her TRIP. But who knows.

Note: working down the block from Saks sucks. I bought a bag today, a large graphite Longchamp.. ;X And was considering something from the LV section, but stopped myself.
I did so on my lunch break instead of having lunch. Great.

School starts tomorrow...something I'm not completely looking forward to.

This is not supposed to be a "Lauren talks about anything" blog, so I'll stop now. But I will review some movies!

The Unborn: Uh.. I'm not sure how a horror movie turned in to a holocaust-crazed lady's quest for her twin brothers...ghost thing to die. But it did.

Shutter: The Ring with photography as the main plot point. OH WAIT, THERE WAS NO PLOT UNTIL HALF WAY THROUGH THE MOVIE. This is by-far the WORST movie I've ever seen....dare I say worse than 'Don't Mess With The Zohan," and I HATED that movie. The 'twisted' alternate ending was a joke. Don't see it unless you want to waste 1 1/2 hours of your life. Or at least waste it doing something else.

How cool? Maybe on my birthday we'll catch a cab to the restaurant. ;P

Anyhow, Cynthia is still en Europa, hopefully getting me a souvenir!

I wish I had something more interesting to say or show you! I have a few articles to write by the 19th for my school paper, and I've had two days off and done almost nothing. Haha.
Work tomorrow, off Friday, work Saturday.

Oh! Here's something interesting. The average undergraduate student spends $4,000 on textbooks the whole four years of college. BUT, if the professors would provide the textbook list at least 6 weeks before classes, they could save as much as 36%!(Yes, this is one of my articles. I'll link to it when it's done.)

New York Comic Con 2009, Furniture, Healthy food.

Hey guys! Lauren here!
My 2009 has been pretty darn good so far.
I found out that Milo Ventimiglia and Russ Cundiff from the DSC are going to be at NY Comic Con again this year promoting their new comic from Top Cow, Berserker! Last year was a blast when they promoted REST, so I can't wait. AND they are doing the singing/panel a day after my birthday! Can't wait!
Check out their first comic REST by Devils Due Publishing, which is on it's second book.

My whole room was just redone! It looks so much nicer and it feels like the room is bigger then it was! I threw away my large annoying desk and dresser and got a wardrobe and a smaller dresser. Plus this cabinet-like bookshelf, a new TV stand and a rug.

Sry it's kinda blurry and does not really show the whole room!

ONE more thing I wanted to talk about! I've decided to begin to eat healthier! I don't know I'm kind of on a kick. Wheat bread, apples all that jazz. LETS SEE HOW IT GOES.

Cynthia is currently a la Europa, so she'll be MIA until next month probably! While I work and try to find things to do....attempting to plan my San Diego Vacation this summer. ;)

This past summer, the FriendsWithYou duo — Sam Borkson and Arturo “Tury” Sandoval III — participated in the Hexagone (A hex is gone) group art show in Miami curated by Jose Mertz. The FriendsWithYou playroom was filled with gigantic inflated buddies and called Wish World.

So yeah. Cute and fun art. Hoorah!

...in other news... within 3 days and 5 dye jobs later, my hair is finally at a somewhat satisfactory color! I'm totallah ready for this winter break now. :D

Hey guys, its Lauren! I'm updating from school so this will be a non-photo post.

I'm actually not sure why I'm updating, mostly because I'm very bored and waiting for my friend. Let's talk about gifts!

I love buying people gifts. It wouldn't seem that way for a lot of people because I enjoy getting them also, but if I was rich I would buy my friends red pandas and burberry trenches. I really really would. I just enjoy getting ppl things they want. Its nice!

I just finished my fall internship, which was sad. I wasn't going to get another one for spring but I really want one now. You get so close with the people you work with and its just a nice tight knit community. Then everyone leaves and its sad.

I think ill just wait and maybe try for summer. Ill write more for the paper in the spring so maybe by fall ill bag an editor position.

Ignore the horrible grammar, for some reason my auto grammar corrector stopped and I don't feel like going back.

I need to make a photocopy of my ss card for my payment. The paper owes me $60 that I could really use.

This is the end of this really boring entry pretty much about my life. You might as well be reading my livejournal! Lol! Kay bye!

Nike Transformers shoes & hair coloring

It's pretty much a Transformers toy that at first looks like a Nike sneaker. They're each packaged in a shoe box. Cool stuff! It looks really hard to turn into the action figure though o_O

In other news, I colored my hair today in hopes of it being mad lighter brown. But instead, it just became a warmer brown... not really lighter than it was before. Oh well. I'm going to try to wait another week till I lighten it once more...

I also want to grow my hair out really long again! Let's see how long that takes >_<.

Hello! So today I'm going to list a few websites that I think are the top 5 most useful for everyday life! Again, this is my own personal opinion! If you know of any others, leave a comment! Also! I added the link to FOLLOW OUR BLOG on the left hand side! So you should do that. :)

The Top 5 Most Useful Websites for Your Everyday Life

5. eHow.com
If you ever need to know how to do anything, go to eHow. It's crazy. I could be on there for hours looking up how to tie my shoelaces, put on pants, or even plant a garden if I wanted to! Seriously though, if you ever get confused about something, like putting together a robot....ehow.com.

4. Yahoo Answers
Much like eHow.com, except people ask their own questions in a forum type setting, and get answers from other users. Strangely enough, these usually come up on Google searches as well. The answers are rated through a star system, and the best or most useful ones show up on top. I like to use this for computer problems, they have many useful answers on that topic concerning certain programs and compatitbility.

3. HopStop.com
In NYC, Chicago, Boston or another metropolitian area? Check out Hopstop.com. It'll tell you how to get anywhere using the public transportation system in your city. It also estimates how long the trip will take, other routes to possibly use, and lets you change the walk/transfer options! Living in NYC, this site has been one of the ones I visit most often. Believe me.

2. Sit or Squat
This is a comprehensive list of publc restrooms, sorted by cleanliness! So, if you're in a pickle and you gotta go, they have a mobile phone application as well! Look up your location and you'll get a list of publuc restrooms in your area rated by others who've used them! Then when you're done, rate it yourself!

1. Google
Obviously, this is going to be #1. Google, which is now officially a verb I believe, is the most incredible search engine on the web. It's a researchers dream, if it's out there Google can find it. Inferior only to specific enginges like Lexis Nexis or Academic Search Premiere. Although, you can't find your favorie Youtube videos on there.

NOTE: You're probably asking yourself why I didn't add YouTube to the list. Mostly because it's more of an entertainment form rather than an everyday needs use.

So, I had a post written out about the top 5 most useful websites, but I don't feel like typing it out. I have to go to work soon, but I'm in a pretty okay mood today.

I think Cynthia should update! That's my 3 1/2 cents!(JUST KIDDING, I JUST REALIZED SHE DID!)

Annnndd I can't wait for christmas! On my list:

-Apple IPod Touch, 8gb(I don't have that much stuff...I'm excited for the games. If you have one, you should check out youtube.com/drummer4drb he does reviews of EVERYTHING).

-Heroes season 2(because I'm too broke to buy it myself).

-Gilmore Girls complete series(Even though I have all the box sets, the big box is just really cool).

-Daisy by Marc Jacobs perfume(LOVE it).

-A new ring.

-New boots.

I think that's it. I would also like a MacBook, and a Sony Book Reader(omggg it's so cool I really want one) but I think that's going to be a birthday thing.

New 2009 LV Collab Collection

So although Winter 2008 has barely arrived, it is just that time when Spring 2009 is introduced within the fashion world... and it is looking fresher than ever!

In 2001 late fashion designer Steven Sprouse collaborated with Marc Jacobs (current pres of Louis Vuitton luxury brand) in hopes of creating a bright, graffiti-printed collection for the French brand name. Due to complications, their plan was set aside following Sprouse's death in 2004.

The long lost collaborative LV collection has just been completed and will be set to hit boutiques in January 2009 :o !

I was on OldTimeCandy.com, which is a really cool candy site where you can get all kinds of candy from your childhood. Anyway, I was browsing and found old toys on the site as well! These caught my eye! These little parachute men were so annoying. They would NEVER work for me!!

I remember putting together those planes alll the timee. I had the Styrofoam ones as well. Haha.

Wow I was TOTALLY Paddle-Ball master. I remember one summer I got so many effing hits it was crazy. Then my paddle-ball string broke and I went to like three stores and couldn't find another one. :( Now I stink at it again.

Papers, Work and Pomegranates.

I hate constantly having to write papers on Hamlet; I think this is my fourth.
You'd think you would stop reading it once you got to College and move on to bigger and better things.
Like..Bronte or Melville. But alas, Shakespeare it is.

I still have yet to watch The Strangers, mostly because I have absolutely no time.
Work tomorrow practically all day, then dinner with friends I haven't seen in ages. I hope we go to Olive Garden, I love their salad and bread sticks.Yummo.

I wish I could give some DSC support on Monday at Regis and Kelly, but I have to give in my paper.

Oh, and Pomegranates are so messy. I permanently stained a tee shirt from eating one.

I just noticed how gross that looks. They kind of smell like a pumpkin inside too, which isn't too appealing. Unless you like pumpkin.

Hello! So, sorry the updates on this page are really not too cohesive, but that's how we are. I just got back form Florida a few days ago, where it rained 75% of the time. Lovely.

But I'm going to talk about television, yet again. There are some new shows I'm into, and some that are coming back that I am looking forward to! So here it goes:

Project Runway(Or as Cynthia and I call it, PR Runway...)(Bravo)
This season seems to be a lot like the new season of Hells Kitchen, a lot of people who don't really know what's up. I don't really know names yet, so spare me a few mistakes. One person who really annoys me times a million is GIRLICIOUS man. Omg, if I hear that one more time, I'm going to throw my television out the window. Stop trying to be Christian Siriano, it's not working.
I thought that the guy who got eliminated should not have. Even though his piece was a little...eccentric to say the least, it was made better than the garbage bag disaster that took a whole of 2 hours to sew by hand. Come on, that was terrible. His portfolio looked promising, but as Cynthia says he could not handle the reality television atmosphere.

Big Brother 10(CBS)
I've only started watching BB a year or so ago, it never really interested me. But season 8 I believe really pulled me in. Season 10 definitely seems promising though. There are two older contestants this season, the oldest being 78 I believe. Which makes the competitions more interesting. On the most recent episode, they were having conflict with one housemate who had apparently said the reason their team lost was because they had the two older people, which caused quite a stir. Anyway, from the first episode alliances had started and when the first person was voted off, Brian, those with him started going down with him. This season is going to be pretty good....I'm still not sure who I like though. Everyone seems grimey in their own way.

I Survived A Japanese Game Show(ABC)
When I found out this show was going to be made, I got really really excited. I had seen clips of Japanese game shows in the past, knowing how strange and bizarre they were. Unfortunately, I did not start watching this until the 4th or 5th episode, but it's still great. There is one person in the competition that I dislike, and her name is Meaghan. She used this stupid excuse last week that they had made a pact she wouldn't go up for elimination or something, but she did the worst in the game. This week, I'm really not sure how the heck she got out of it, but she did and again she was horrible in the game! I really want this b*tch to leave now. She's just annoying. Anyway, watch the show, it's really interesting.

The Secret Life of The American Teenager(ABC Family)
When I saw the promos for this show on ABC family, it looked interesting, but a little cliche. I checked it out anyway and I'm glad I did. There are so many different characters and so many problems, that the preggers girl isn't even the main focus! She is what the show is primarily about, but there are a lot of things going on. The only gripe I have with this show is that it is going too slow for my tastes. It is already up to it's...4th or 5th episode and she hasn't told her parents or new bf yet. I don't know, it's making me a bit uncomf. but I still enjoy the show. It's kind of like a wacky soap-opera.

Okay, now here's a list of shows I can't wait to come back in the Fall!
-Heroes(NBC)
I can't effing wait. According to Milo Ventimiglia, the new season will make your head explode.
-The Office(NBC)
Omgggggggggggggggg the season finale was nuts. This new season is going to be great, I know it. Apparently, there will also be a spin-off starring Amy Poehler from SNL, but I'm not a big fan of spin-off's.
-America's Next Top Model(CW)
I hate the new judge, but this show is also amusing to me. :)

Cakes and MySpace!

Hey guys! Cynthia and I are, in the mist of our radio show, setting up a Calbl0g MySpace page! It's still in the works, but if you guys are interested it's Myspace.com/calbl0g! Here, we will have some pictures of us and some things we enjoy doing. Also some of our favorite songs, and just general information.

In this post, I'm going to chat a bit about cakes. One of my fave shows right now(along with Jon and Kate Plus 8) is Ace of Cakes on The Food Network. I think these guys are AMAZING and they make some nutso cakes! If I wasn't going into media, I would definitely consider a career in pastry making. Take a look at some of these crazy cakes!

WOW! That is so nuts. I seriously wish I could make cakes like these.

Last American Kitchen.

Having a blog, to Cynthia and I, means updating it once a year on the exact day. Now, this isn't exactly a great system because lots of things happen in a year and the posts would be extraordinarily long, so I decided to break the law a little. This post might be a little boring, but if you're interested in these things it might not.

I'm going to talk about the shows I've been watching lately. Reality shows. I apologize to everyone who hates them, but I love reality shows for some strange reason.

I always look forward to another season of Hell's Kitchen. Chef Ramsey makes me laugh and cringe at the same time. I love it. I don't want to spoil anything, but a chef on the last episode lost the tip of his finger and thought he lost it in a dish of food... What's more entertaining than that? Nothing, in my opinion. This season however, the cooks...well...I'll just say it, they stink. They are the worst I've ever seen on the show. I can't understand why they wouldn't find people better for a new season, not worse.

I haven't really been watching American Idol, but I did see the finale. Here's what I think:
Even though many of you are probably saying that David A. has a better voice than David C., he's also a lot younger. He has his whole life ahead of him to make 100 platinum records, thousands of number 1 songs, an E! True Hollywood Story, a few D.U.I's and maybe rehab. David C. also has a great voice; he will sing songs you want to hear on the radio driving home, and he's pretty darn attractive if I do say so myself. There's my two cents.

Last Comic Standing is a show a lot of people don't know about. I didn't like it until a few summers ago at my Dad's house, having nothing else to do than watch his big-screen T.V all day. I watched the whole first season marathon on Bravo and fell in love with it. I was a bit upset when, last season, the white guy wasn't the host anymore. He made me laugh even though he was a bit awkward. He gave the show that little extra something the new guy does not.

So I've been trying to find out how to search all blogger blogs, and I don't know if it's actually possible. Which is unfortunate.

I decided to order a movie on demand tonight, and that movie was:

The Breakfast Club! I guess I was just in the mood to watch it, but as always, it was enjoyable. It's definitely one of my favorite movies.

For some reason I'm listening to that really old Nelly Feat. Tim McGraw song, Over and Over. What a weird mix, it's almost comparable to how the show Firefly is a SciFi Western. Rap and Country. Yes it's strange, but it works.

And yes, the subject of this post is from BBMAK. Whatev, they're good, I don't care what anyone says about 90's boy bands. I really do listen to an odd assortment of music.

I saw sneakers like these in U.O. yesterday but they didn't have a price tag. I assumed they were expensive. Next time I see them I will buy them! :X

So, I am a member of this club called the DSC, short for Divide Social Club. In this club, that these three guys: Milo Ventimiglia, Russ Cundiff and Dino DeMilio, started people just get together and make friends. It's kind of just a place to be yourself.

Well, some people are more themselves than others. A few months ago, a girl named Leanne uploaded this video:

Now, you're saying "lol that's kinda funny," right? Yeah it is hilarious lol. Then, Milo decided to duplicate it for Easter(sober of course, he doesn't drink):

This video appeared on Perez Hilton today, and soon after Leanne's video appeared on the page also!
Moral of the story: Get drunk, make a video while intoxicated screaming random things about wubbie and lions, have a 'celeb' replicate it: Become famous.

Since we are new bloggers here on blogspot, we thought why not introduce ourselves properly? Here's a few things about us:

Lauren: Hey I'm Lauren, 19 years old and a freshman in college. I'm majoring in Communication Studies, with a concentration in Media. I'm still not too sure what exactly I'm going to end up doing, maybe T.V or Journalism. My dream is to be a late night talk show host! I enjoy reality T.V, and documentaries, even though I'm not all that politically active. If I end up ranting about a show, it will be either Gilmore Girls, Heroes or some reality show. I also like books. Unlike Cynthia, reading is something I actually enjoy doing. I like to bake but I suck, take naps that are way longer than a nap is, shop, write, technology, celebrity gossip and fashion. Expect my posts to be somewhat different, I like photos so I will probably include many of those too. So that's practically all you need to know about me, more things will probably be revealed in my posts especially if I left something out!

Cynthia: I'm currently a design student in college, studying communication design. I like dancing and singing (badly). If a song I like begins to play, I guarantee you I will burst out in vocals and movement. I take sleep for granted, and don't really mind going without it. My dreams usually determine my mood for the rest of the day. My favorite season is Spring (although I'm still waiting for that to arrive). When I was 14 I wanted to want to be a photographer. In fact, I got into the art program in high school because of my passion for it. I find talent and drive attractive. I respect those who artistically and passionately create, even if I dislike you as a person. I can guarantee you my ringtone is a rap/hip-hop/r&b song 90% of the time. And my final random fact: "Life is too short to have on a bad outfit." (So don't. Really. Plz.) Here is my Livejournal

Hi! So Cynthia and I have decided to turn our CalBlog website into an actual blog! You are probably thinking: "So what? Here's two more boring gals making another boring blog where they will talk about boring subjects." Well, you're wrong.
Cynthia and I are pretty interesting people, at least we think so. Our incredibly varying interests and semi-eccentric hobbies might help to make this blog a lot more interesting to you, the reader.
